Fourth Planning Subcommittee Meeting Held

On Friday, August 25, the Planning Subcommittee Meeting was held to solidify the details of the Opening Ceremony, Roundtable, and Plenary Session, building upon the discussions from the previous International Steering Committee Meeting.

Regarding the keynote speaker for the Opening Ceremony, it was decided to extend an invitation to CHANG Ha-Joon, Professor of Economics at SOAS University of London.

Furthermore, discussions took place concerning the panelists for the Roundtable and Plenary Session. Suggestions were made to invite notable Korean figures, including SONG Doohwan, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, and KIM Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District in Seoul, to the Roundtable. The Deputy Mayor of Gwangju was proposed as another invitee for the Plenary Session.

Lastly, the member of the Committee, HER Changyoung agreed to take on the responsibility of drafting of the 13th WHRCF Declaration. Reflecting on the feedback from the International Steering Committee and furthermore drawing from the discussions during the Forum, the Declaration will be finalized and adopted during the Closing Ceremony of the 13th World Human Rights Cities Forum on October 7.
