UNESCO ICCAR Global Steering Committee February Monthly Meeting
On Wednesday, 9 February, UNESCO ICCAR Global Steering Committee (hereafter “UNESCO ICCAR GSC”) held their second monthly meeting for the year 2022, where the plans for projects and big events of the upcoming year, previously discussed during the January meeting, began to take shape.
The main agenda, therefore, focused on the preparations for the first upcoming event - special global edition of the “Master Class against Racism and Discriminations: Enhancing Intercultural Dialogue”, to be held at UNESCO Paris Headquarters in a hybrid format on 21 March 2022. Furthermore, what followed was a brief discussion about a somewhat farther event, Mexico City Global Forum against Racism and Discriminations, which was postponed to November 2022, and the new declaration to be presented at the event.
Finally, exchange of views and a presentation was also held on the first ever mutual pilot project, currently being designed to include every one of the ICCAR GSC coalitions – “Pollica Boot Camp” expected to take place in summer of 2022. All of the coalitions showed interest in the project, and further planning connected solely to it is to be conducted through a separate working group later this month.
The March monthly meeting of the UNESCO ICCAR GSC is set to be held on March 7, where the main focus will be the Global Master Class.
