On May 27, the launch of 3rd Blended Learning Course on Local Government and Human Rights (BLC) was successfully held under the theme of "Localising Human Rights and SDGs for Inclusive Recovery and Resilience" with the participation of local governments, civil society organizations, and the academe from Asian-Pacific countries including Morten Kjaerum (Director of Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights); Bernadia Irawati Tjandradewi (Secretary-General of UCLG ASPAC); and the Mayor of Kalmunai (Sri Lanka).

The course aims at introducing concepts and experiences of the localization of human rights in SDG processes and discussing how to leverage these in reshaping city planning to achieve sustainable and inclusive recovery for urban resilience. The course will consist of online modules, webinars and individual course projects, and it will be enriched further by the forum. This year, 21 participants from 6 countries (Philippines, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Kiribati, Malaysia and Indonesia) will be joining the journey.
